True Nature was established in 2007 in Arcata, CA. What started as a small private studio has grown to house four full-time artists. We aim to be a hub of thoughtful, high-energy tattooing and to bring artistic perspectives from around the world to our small Northern California town.
We pride ourselves on being inclusive, open to ideas, and all-around nice people.
You will instantly feel at home in our 1930s, well-cared-for craftsman. The building as been refurbished by local artisans and adorned with art created by our artists and our friends from around the world.

Our Ethos.
Our commitment to integrity and legacy extends beyond giving you a great-looking tattoo. We want to minimize the waste inherent in our industry, so we are constantly looking for innovations and incorporating as many biodegradable products as possible.
While some single-use items are necessary for health and safety, we have found more planet-friendly options for gloves, surface barriers, garbage bags, paper towels, and other paper goods. We spend more to make this ethos a reality, because it matters.
