True Nature was established in 2007 in Arcata, CA. What started as a small private tattoo studio has grown to house four world-class full-time artists. A hub of thoughtful, high-energy tattooing, we bring artistic perspectives and experience from around the world to our small Northern California town.

Our artists are inclusive, collaborative, and all-around nice people.

You will instantly feel at home in our 1930s Craftsman building, refurbished by local artisans and adorned from top to bottom with inspiring art by artists and friends.

Our commitment to integrity and legacy extends beyond giving you a great-looking tattoo. We believe in minimizing the waste inherent in the tattoo industry, and incorporate innovative biodegradable products throughout the tattooing process.

 While some single-use items are necessary to ensure health and safety, much of your experience will include more planet-friendly products, from gloves to paper goods.  The extra time and money required to make this ethos a reality is well worth it for all of our futures.
